Terms of Service
Last Updated: July 2026
Welcome to ScanTally. By accessing or using our Point of Sale (POS) and inventory management web application, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the software.
1. License and Permitted Use
ScanTally grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the software for your personal or commercial business operations. You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the application.
- Use the software for any illegal activities or to process fraudulent transactions.
- Resell, sublicense, or distribute the software without explicit written permission from Alticrux.
- Use automated bots or scrapers to interact with the application.
2. User Accounts and Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and your unique "Scanner IDs". ScanTally uses AES encryption to protect your hidden costs and profit margins, but you must ensure your devices and passwords remain secure. Any activity that occurs under your account is your sole responsibility.
3. No Admin Panel & Data Ownership
ScanTally does not provide an admin panel for the developers to access your data. You retain full ownership of all data you input into the application. Because we cannot access your data:
- We cannot recover deleted scan histories or invoices.
- We cannot reset your encryption keys or decrypt your QR codes remotely.
- We cannot transfer your data to another account on your behalf.
- You are strongly encouraged to periodically export your data using the built-in PDF and Excel export features.
4. Third-Party Services and Infrastructure
ScanTally relies on third-party services to function. Your use of the software is also governed by the terms of these providers:
- Google Firebase: Used for authentication and database storage. Google's security and privacy policies apply to your data hosted here.
- Netlify: Used for web hosting and content delivery.
5. Disclaimer of Warranties
ScanTally is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. Alticrux makes no warranties, expressed or implied, regarding the software's reliability, uptime, or fitness for a particular purpose. We do not guarantee that:
- The app will be completely error-free or uninterrupted.
- Generated invoices will meet all legal or tax compliance requirements in your jurisdiction.
- The QR code encryption will be immune to all possible future decryption methods.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Alticrux (the developers of ScanTally) shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. This includes, but is not limited to, loss of profits, loss of data, business interruption, or errors in billing/invoicing generated by the software. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid to use the software (which is currently free).
7. Modifications to the Service and Terms
We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the service (or any part of it) at any time, with or without notice. We may also update these Terms of Service periodically. Continued use of ScanTally after changes constitutes your acceptance of the new terms. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision.
8. Governing Law
These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising from the use of ScanTally shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction in India.
